Stephen Decker
Stephen Decker has been involved in the marine industry for almost 40 years. He worked for the Canadian Coast Guard for over 35 years, first going to sea and later worked in Senior Management, Regional Director Fleet for Atlantic Region.
He is the holder of a Master Mariner Certificate issued by Transport Canada. In 2014 Stephen graduated from the 6 week Yacht and Small Craft Course at Chapman School of Seamanship in Stuart, Florida. Stephen is an active member of the American Boat and Yacht Council and have been tested and certified to survey small vessels to their standards.
Matthew Wheaton
Matthew Wheaton has been involved in the marine industry for over 25 years. Starting out working on inshore commercial fishing vessels during his teenage years before attending the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, Nova Scotia. At the College, Matthew received his watching keeping mates certificate of competency, a Bachelor of Technology, and Diploma in Nautical Science. Since that time he has work his way through the ranks from junior watchkeeping officer to his current position as Commanding Officer, where he holds a valid Master Mariner certificate of competency.
Matthew is very active in his seagoing career spending at least six months of the year working on seagoing vessels. He is currently studying and practicing marine surveying under Stephen and looks forward to his next survey.
